Our area is renowned for birds such as the Gang Gang, King Parrots, Rosella’s, yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo and hundreds more.
Mountain Bike Riding
For the more adventurous; take a ride from the back of the BIG4 Wye River Holiday Park along the river and head bush. There are endless Otway tracks to choose from.
Fishing
Whether a professional fisherman or a ambitious junior, we have the facilities to drop a line and hopefully catch dinner! The river is a great spot to sit by all year round and people have been known to catch a fish or two. Alternatively, the beach across the road is a great spot with a surf-rod with the wide beach offering a solid chance to make a catch!
Surfing – Learn! (Go Ride A Wave Seasonal)
During the summer months, surf lessons are hosted by Go Ride A Wave on the Wye River Beach which is conveniently located just across the road from the park.
We also hire boards out all year round so it's never too late to get in the water and give surfing a go!
Wildlife Spotting in the Great Otway National Park
The Great Otway National Park (backing on to the park) has abundant wildlife – swamp wallabies, koalas, ring-tailed possums and grey kangaroos are common, and tiger quolls and yellow-bellied gliders can be seen too – though rarely seen.

Otway Fly – 1hr 15mins
Just 15mins from Lavers Hill, take a breath taking tree top walk which reaches heights of 47metres above ground level. A must do on your holiday.
Platypus Canoe Tour – 1.5hrs
Lake Elizabeth walk takes you on a journey to the landslide which dammed the east Barwon River to form a remote lake where you can experience a platypus canoe tour.

Otway Estate, set at the beautiful Otway Estate provides guests and visitors alike a true taste of the Otways from a selection of the wonderful wine, beers & ciders all produced on site. The Prickly Moses beers & Forbidden Fruit ciders are produced by Otway Brewing – the on-site brewery and have flavours and tastes to suit the seasons.

Walk 91 was created by a Parks Victoria Ranger in Apollo Bay, based on his knowledge of the Great Ocean Walk. As the walk is based locally, you can walk in confidence knowing they are never away should you need them. Your walking package will include a safety beacon, small first aid kit, maps & walking notes. You can request the use of walking poles and overseas visitors can also borrow a mobile phone if needed.

Some of Australia best mountain bike tracks are only 45mins away in forrest.
The tracks range from easy to moderate to advanced, which means both families can enjoy and the hardcore enthusiasts can be challenged. With over 20 awesome purpose built tracks to choose from and great trail maps available you can’t miss this one – and its free!

Lorne is a seaside town on Loutit Bay in Victoria, Australia. It is situated about the Erskine River & is one of the most popular summer destinations on the Great Ocean Road. Take a walk down the main street (Mountjoy parade) and discover boutique shopping along with sensational coffee or take the kids to the amazing waterfalls that surround and bedazzled by nature at its best.

Erskin falls Lorne – 25 mins from Wye
Beautiful walk through the rain forest. Stand at the top of the falls or take the 10 min walk to the bottom of the falls.
Sheoak Falls – 10mins from Wye River
Take the tranquil walk through to Sheoak falls.
Melba Gully – 1.15mins
Known as the ‘jewel of the Otways’ this is one of the wettest places in the state. See the ‘Big Tree’ which is over 200 years old. Glow worms line the path at night.
Triplet Falls – 1.5hrs
While visiting the Otway Fly, stop in next door to Triplet Falls. This magnificent waterfall is surrounded by wet forest and ferny rainforest.
Carrisbrook Falls – 20mins from Apollo Bay
Take a short 300m uphill walk to the lush & sun-exposed ravine for a distant look at the impressive 50m waterfall. The waterfall is rated as one of the closest ones to the Great Ocean Road – which means not too much walking for the kids!
